Death notices for Ned L. Young and Elnora G. Perrott.

 

YOUNG
    Ned L. Young, 53, of Convoy, died early Thursday morning, October 18, 2007, at James Cancer Center in Columbus, from bone marrow transplant complications.
    He was born September 13, 1954, in Van Wert, the son of Phyllis (Switzer) Young, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Gaylord Young. On July 23, 1988, in Van Wert County, he married Sandra Unterbrink Young, who survives.
    Mr. Young, a 1972 graduate of Crestview High School, was a recipient of both the FFA Ohio State Farmer and the FFA National American Farmer degrees. He was a grain and sheep farmer with his brother, Ron. He also was a bus driver for Crestview Local Schools. He was an active leader in many organizations. He was, until his recent illness, on the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center Governing Board, was the Crestview Band Parent Organization president and treasurer of the Van Wert Sheep Improvement Association. He also wrote farm articles for The Times-Bulletin and was on the board of the Ohio and National Southdown Sheep Association. He was also a member of the First Agricultural Leadership Program in Ohio, a former president of the Crestview Local Board of Education, as well as a former president of United Way of Van Wert County.
    In addition to his mother and wife, survivors include two daughters, Cassandra and Mariana Young, both at home; a brother, Ron (Carla) Young of Van Wert; aunts and uncles, Edgar (Dueece) Young, Paul D. (Ella) Switzer and Marilyn (Deo) Haines; cousins, David (Paige) Young, Susan (Jon) Gnagy and Kenneth (Marie) Haines; nieces and nephews, Kris (fiancée Blain Newsome) Young, Jennifer Young and Philip (fiancée Katlin Springer) Young, William Young, Shane (Elizabeth) Williamson, Roxanne Unterbrink and Benjamin Unterbrink; his father-in-law, Donald W. Unterbrink; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Greg (Mary) Unterbrink, Dan (Jennifer) Unterbrink and Diana Williamson.
    His mother-in-law, Pat (DeBolt) Unterbrink, also preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 21, at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
    Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, October 20, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and a half-hour prior to services on Sunday at the church.

PERROTT
    Elnora G. Perrott, 92, of Van Wert, died at 5:50 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2007, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
    She was born May 2, 1915, in Jackson Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Fred and Loma L. (Kohn) Dunlap. She married Forrest D. Perrott, who died December 19, 1982.
    Survivors include two sons, Dale (Pat) Perrott and Jim (Judy) Perrott, both of Van Wert; a sister, Leota Dougal of Convoy; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    A brother, Charles Dunlap, also preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 21, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Rev. Neil Hammons and Rev. John Perkins officiatings. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
    Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, October 20, at the funeral home.
