DOUGAL
Leota M. Dougal, 86, of Van
Wert, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at Convoy Care Center.
She was born January 6, 1922, in Jackson Township, Van Wert
County, the daughter of the late Fred L. and Loma (Kohn) Dunlap. On January 17,
1940, she married Willard E. Dougal, who also preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Monty (Rodney) Orsbon of
Convoy, Marlene (Larry) Schwing of Houston, Texas, and Kathy (David) Brotherwood
Jarzemski of LaCrosse, Wis.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and
four great-great-grandchildren.
A brother, Charles Dunlap; and a sister, Elnora Perrott, also
preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday,
April 14, at North Union United Methodist Church in rural Van Wert County, with
the Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery, also
in rural Van Wert County.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at Gearhart,
Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy.

COMER
Garnett A. Comer,
87, of Van Wert, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at Lutheran Hospital
of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind
.
She was born March 19, 1921, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Mark and Pearl
(Shock) Sowers. In January 1942, she married Leroy G. Comer, who survives in Van
Wert.
Mrs. Comer retired from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert. She
was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three children,
James Comer of Van Wert; Diane (Larry) Games of Mason and Jan (Brent) Van Horn
of Pickerington; four grandchildren, Allison and Mark Games, and Joel and Drue
Van Horn; and one great-grandchild, Sydney.
A brother, Williams Sowers, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
April 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the
Rev. William Haggis II officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van
Wert.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 14, at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney
Foundation or St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert.
