LYNCH
    Oscar L. Lynch, 89, of Van Wert, died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
    He was born March 7, 1919, in Clayborn County, Tenn., the son of the late Moses and Laura (DeMarcus) Lynch. On September 9, 1943, he married Pauline (Simpson) Lynch, who died March 7, 2003.
    Survivors include two sons, Larry E. (Joyce) Lynch of Van Wert and Robert D. (Niema) Lynch of Columbus; a stepson, Dr. John (Ann) Saylor of Columbus; one brother, Roy C. (Georgia) Lynch of Hamilton; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
    Three brothers and three sisters also preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at First Baptist Church in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with military graveside rites performed by the combined honor units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
    Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, and a half-hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

STUART
    B. Dianne Baer Stuart, 71, of Van Wert, died at 8:07 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at her residence.

    She was born January 23, 1937, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Earl Allen and Hazel Ruth (Blosser) Bartlett. On August 24, 1954, she married Bill Baer, who died May 19, 1984. She then married Edward L. Stuart on September 12, 1987, and he survives at the residence.
    Other survivors include three children, Randy (Tracy) Baer, Gina (Bob) Say and Julie (Bill) Baxter, all of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Edward E. (Julie) Stuart and Roger (Lana) Stuart, both of Payne, and Cindy (Jeff) Trahin of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Mary Ellen (Don) Thomas of Van Wert; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
    A brother, Kenneth Bartlett, preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating, assisted by Rev. Clark Williman. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
    Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

BEAR
    Glennadine M. Bear, 81, of Delphos, died at 8:28 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at her daughter’s residence.
    She was born August 21, 1926, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Glen and Violet (Kimmey) Ross. On July 17, 1943, she married Raymond E. Bear, who died October 31, 2004.
    Survivors include a son, Steven (Robin) Bear of Delphos; one daughter, Patty Stant of Lima; a brother, Donald E. Ross of Fall Brook, Calif.; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; and a great-great-grandchild.
    A brother, Harold Ross, and an ex-son-in-law, James Stant, also preceded him in death.
    A private memorial graveside service will be held at a later date.
    There will be no visitation.
 

MARTINEZ
    Mike Cano Martinez, 88, Defiance, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Defiance Regional Medical Center.
    He was born May 12, 1919, in Lawrence, Okla., the son of the late Rafael and Flora (Cano) Martinez. On January 13, 1948, he married Mary C. (Contreras) Martinez, who preceded him in death on October 1, 2002.
    Survivors include four sons, Guadalupe (Donna) Martinez of Defiance, Joseph (Jean) Martinez of Paulding, John (Sharon) Martinez of Willshire and Rocky Martinez of Baytown, Texas; two daughters, Linda Martinez and Veronica (Edward) Ovalle, both of Defiance; a brother, Nick Martinez of Paulding; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
    Two brothers; a sister; a grandson, and a granddaughter also preceded him in death.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Tom Oedy officiating. Burial will be in Paulding Memorial Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587.
    Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding where a wake service will be held at 7:30 that evening.

WILHELM
    Justus “Joe” Wilhelm, 72, of Paulding, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at his residence.

    He was born April 7, 1936, in Paulding County, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Buchheit) Wilhelm. On September 18, 1962, he married Marjorie A. Schaadt Mekus, who survives.
    Other survivors include two sons, Terry (Sherry) Wilhelm of Jeffery Dean (Anna) Mekus, both of Paulding; a daughter, Cheryl (Scott) Russell of Defiance; two sisters, Alice (Glenn) Rager of Paulding and Dorothy Littlejohn Hill of Leesburg, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulding, with Father David Tscherne officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with military graveside rites performed.

    Visitation is from 2:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
