Death notices for Ella Mae Dunifon and Alice M. Sperry.

DUNIFON
    Ella Mae Dunifon, 86, of Van Wert, died at 1:55 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2006, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
    She was born November 19, 1919, in Pleasant Lake, Ind., the daughter of the late Alvin and Mabel (Beaty) Frederick. On June 28, 1940, she married Donald Dunifon, who survives in Van Wert.
    Mrs. Dunifon had worked at The Hotel Marsh, Union Mills, the East End Market and Holiday Inn, all in Van Wert. She was a life member and a past senior regent of the Van Wert chapter of Women of the Moose.
    In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters, Pam (Donald) Beck of Van Wert and Shirley Stoller of Coral Springs, Fla.; a brother, Raymond Frederick of Turkey Lake, Ind.; five grandchildren, Stephen (Cindy) Beck and Brent A. Beck, both of Van Wert, Misty (Sam) Pinson of Coral Springs, Fla., Angela (Ruben) Chuquimia of St. Louis, Mo., and Amber (Rob) Harrell of Austin, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aaron Beck, Gabrielle and Carter Chuquimia and Samuel Pinson IV.
    A son, Ronald E. Dunifon; one brother, Lewis Frederick; a grandson, Craig A. Beck; and one great-granddaughter, Taylor Allison Beck, also preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
    Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, August 27, at the funeral home.
    In appreciation of the staff's wonderful care, memorials may be directed to the Vancrest Health Care Center's Activities Memorial Fund.

SPERRY
    Alice M. Sperry, 97, of Van Wert, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
    She was born September 19, 1908, in Middle Point, the daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Kesler) Pollock. On April 4, 1931, she married D. Keith Sperry, who died July 24, 1993.
    Mrs. Sperry was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert..
    Survivors include a son, Maurice K. (Leslie) Sperry of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Anita Uncapher of Van Wert and Charlotte (Larry) Laukhuf of Haviland; four grandchildren, Cindy Quackenbush, Ross Laukhuf, Chad Sperry, Natasha Sperry; five stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
    Two daughters, Janice Elaine Sperry and Marcia Eisenhut; two sisters, Doris Miller and Ida Jean Mills; and two sons-in-law, John Uncapher and Dick Eisenhut, also preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Rev. W. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Ridge Township.
    Visitation is from noon-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be directed to the Vancrest Activity Fund.
