JACKSON
E. Jane Jackson, 80, formerly of New Bremen, died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, December 20, 2009, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born August 30, 1929, in Hartford City, Ind., the daughter of the late Paul and Miriam (Manor) Johnsonbaugh. On July 25, 1947, she married William Jackson, who survives in Coldwater.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen and was a life member of the New Bremen Historic Association. She was a graduate of Hartford City High School. She and her husband owned and operated the former Jackson's Jewelry in New Bremen for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling and she and her husband visited every state in the continental U.S.
Also surviving are her daughters, Mariann (Ray) Sanders of New Knoxville, and Teresa (Michael) Williman of Van Wert. Other survivors include her grandchildren, Bret (Kim) Ayers of Coldwater, Kara Ayers of Toledo, Michael Kelly of Wilmington, N.C., Samuel Sanders of Dayton, and Joseph Sanders of New Knoxville, and her great-grandchildren, Emma, Paige, Mason and Lauren Ayers, and her son-in-law, Charles Ayers of Denver, Colo.
A daughter, Rosamond (Rosie) Ayers, and her brothers, Paul and Richard Johnsonbaugh, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will be in German Protestant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday at the church.
