MIHM
Dawn Rnee Mihm, 42, of Van Wert, died at 10:10 a.m. Friday, December 25, 2009, in a car-bicycle accident on Lincoln Highway west of Van Wert.
She was born December 22, 1967, in Defiance, the daughter of the late William C. Derr Sr. and Donna Connon, who survives in Van Wert. On September 26, 1988, she married Joseph Elmer Mihm, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include two sisters, Tina Coil of Bryan and Bonnie (Keith) Hurless of Van Wert; four half-brothers, Gary (Linda) Richhart of Harlan, Ind., Gregg (Shaun) Richhart of Woodburn, Ind., and Rick (Cindy) Richhart and Roger Richhart, both of New Haven, Ind.; a half-sister, Gail (Ed) Claymiller of Harlan, Ind.; two aunts, two uncles and 12 nieces and nephews.
A daughter, Galen Ann Mihm, who died August 17, 1988; and one brother, William Charles Derr Jr., also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Scott Fleming officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. Monday, December 28, at the funeral home.

MYERS
David L. Myers, 83, of Convoy, died at 4:52 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009, at Convoy Care Center.
He was born October 9, 1926, in Van Wert, the son of the late Alfred and Opal (Dudley) Myers.
Mr. Myers was chief of the Arson Bureau, a court
bailiff, adult probation officer
and
presence investigator for Van Wert County, retiring in 1990. He also served as
Wren fire chief. He was a member of the Ohio Firefighters Association and was a
graduate of Wren High School. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during
World War II. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include a son, Neil L. Myers of Ohio City; one sister, Martha Myers of Wren; four grandchildren, Jason (Jami) Suman, Elisha (Cody) Rucklos, Neil Lee (Sarah) Myers Jr. and Jennifer Myers; and three great-grandchildren, Melissa Paige Suman, Caleb Lee Myers and Sam Schultz.
A brother, Arno Myers, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ind. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in rural Decatur.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at the funeral home.

KREISCHER
Ralph L. Kreischer, 82, of Van Wert, died at 12:02 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born January 10, 1927, in Van Wert County,
the son of the late
Lawrence
and Edith (McClure) Kreischer. On September 25, 1983, he married Helen M.
(Knepper) Kreischer, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include three children, Ralph L. (Jane) Kreischer Jr. and David (Teresa) Kreischer, both of Van Wert, and Vicky (Terry) Anderson of Wren; four stepchildren, Becky (Tim) Roehrs of Kendallville, Ind., Steven L. (Janice) Osborn and Amy L. Proctor, both of Van Wert, and Suzan A. (Ricky) Lloyd of Stryker; four brothers, Harold (Sherry) Kreischer and Gerald (Dixie) Kreischer, both of Ohio City, Ronnie (Linda) Kreischer of Lexington, and Max (Janet) Kreischer of Van Wert; three sisters, Barbara Bashore of Van Wert, Marcile Pennell of Colorado, and Audrey Campbell of Ridgemont, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Five brothers, Larry, Gaylord, Floyd, Jimmy and Robert Kreischer, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, at St. Paul’s Reformed Church in rural Ohio City, with the Rev. Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in rural Ohio City, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors unit of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

STANZ
Elizabeth “Betty” Stanz, 85, of Fort Jennings, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009, at Baton Rouge Living Center.
She was born July 29, 1924, in Fort Jennings, the daughter of the late Felix and Flora (Kershner) Calvelage. She married John W. Stanz, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1986.
Survivors include a son, Robert (Kathy) Stanz of St. Marys; two daughters, Diane “Dee Dee” Boroff of Convoy and Sharon (Duane) Luebrecht of Fort Jennings; one sister, Jackie (Augie) Trenkamp of Fort Jennings; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Jack Meadows.
A brother, Gerard “Dutch” Calvelage; two sisters, Mary Calvelage and Ruth Wieging Broecker; a son-in-law, William Boroff; and one grandson, Jeffrey Boroff, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Father Joseph Przybysz officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Fort Jennings.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Monday, December 28, and an hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
