KNOTTS

Helen L. Knotts, 98, formerly of Grover Hill, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born September 30, 1911, in Pendleton, Ind., the daughter of the late Clyde W. and Hazel N. (Wynant) Bright. On November 4, 1929, she married Forest E. Knotts, who preceded her in death on May 27, 1992.

Survivors include four children, Beverly (Dave) Thomas of Van Wert, Judith Stabler of Convoy, Carole Mansfield of Antwerp and Kathleen (Terry) Armstrong of Clayton, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Gladys Knotts of Broughton; one sister, Carolyn J. Petty of Mesa, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, James Knotts and one in infancy; three sisters, Frances Hedges, Marjorie Reams and Rebecca Bulman; and two grandchildren, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, February 4, at the funeral home.

VANDEMARK

Norma Evelyn Vandemark, 89, of rural Van Wert, died at 1:10 a.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at Vancrest Assisted Living in Van Wert.

She was born April 4, 1920, in Union Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Oscar J. and Lydia (Storm) Bauer. On July 23, 1950, she married William E. Vandemark, who preceded her in death on November 17, 1999.

Survivors include a sister, Mabel Cox of Convoy; and many nieces and nephews.

A brother, Elmer J. Bauer, and one sister, Agnes Bauer, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Redeemer Lutheran Cemetery in Harrison Township.

The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Lutheran Hour of Worship of Redeemer Lutheran Church.

SUBLER

Greg C. Subler, 50, of Delphos, died at 9:58 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010, at his residence.

He was born December 25, 1959, in Greenville, the son of the late Robert and Helen (Broerman) Subler.  In 1991, he married Sherry Dickerhoof, who survives in Delphos.

Survivors include a daughter, Shira Subler of Greenville; two stepdaughters, Brandy (Nick Kerns) Kershner of Delphos, and Babette (Jesse) Stewart of Fort Jennings; three sisters, Barb (Mike) Niekamp of St. Henry, Mary (Dave) Sterling of Delphos, and Joan (Jim) Stover of Piqua; two brothers, Gene (Nancy) Subler of Berne, Ind., and David (Sue) Subler of Greenville; and a grandson, Tyler Wrasman.

A brother, Gerald Subler, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 6,  at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Father Jacob Gordon officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Delphos Veterans Council.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 5, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
