MOSURE
Katherine W. Mosure, 86, of Van Wert, died at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 19,
2008, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born August 10, 1921, in North Lewi
sburg, the
daughter of the late Kenneth M. and Mae (Lew) Brake. On January 19, 1941, she
married Ralph F. Mosure, who died August 18, 1996.
Mrs. Mosure had worked at various grocery stores in Van Wert
and retired from Marsh Supermarket in Van Wert. She was a 1939 graduate of Van
Wert High School and a member of First United Brethren in Christ Church in Van
Wert. She also was a member of TWIG II and volunteered at the hospital gift
shop, was a precinct worker for the Van Wert County Board of Elections, was a
member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 178 in Van Wert, a member of the Van
Wert YWCA, an avid card player, the oldest active woman bowler in Van Wert
County and a member of the Van Wert Women’s Bowling Association and U.S. Bowling
Congress. She was named to the Van Wert County Bowling Hall of Fame and was a
member of the Bowling 500 Club. Her hobbies included crocheting (many angels,
doilies and other items) and drawing.
Survivors include two children Sandra S. Lhamon of
Indianapolis, Ind., and Gloria (Charles M.) Adelblue of Van Wert; two brothers,
Kenneth M. Brake Jr. of Van Wert and Wilbur (Dorothy) Brake of Silver Lake,
Ind.; six grandchildren, Michelle (Juan) Ramirez, Nicole (Michael) Robey, Denis
Lhamon, Troy Oechsle, Heidi (Duane) Emans and Elizabeth (Scott) Selhorst; and 11
great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Pamela Oechsle; and two sisters, Mary Smith and
Patricia Pollock, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at
Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Jody
Harr officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday, February 22, at the
funeral home.

PHILLIPS
Donna L. Phillips, 44, of Grover Hill, died Tuesday, February
19, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was born September 18, 1963, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter
of Marcia (Napierala) Phillips Pagley, who survives with her husband, Jerry, in
Paulding, and Thomas Phillips, who survives in Toledo.
Other survivors include a son, Grant Harris of Auburndale,
Fla.; one daughter, Alexandra Durfey of Grover Hill; a brother, Thomas Phillips
Jr. of Paulding; two sisters, Lorinda Allen of Grover Hill and Barbara
(Christopher) Freeman of Toledo; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday,
February 24, at DenHerder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Ben Lowell
officiating.
Visitation is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

JACKSON
Larry Jackson, 45, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and Van Wert, died
suddenly at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008, in Stuart, Fla.
Survivors include his father, Larry D. Jackson of Van Wert;
a sister, Lori Jackson of Florida; four nieces; two nephews; and an unborn
child.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March
22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul
W. Miller officiating. He will be buried with brothers Mike and Rick Jackson,
along with his mother, Peggy, who also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
