Cecilia Irene Carrier, 82, of Van Wert, died Thursday morning, February 21, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Marcy 7, 1925, in Fleur-De-Lys, Newfoundla
nd,
Canada, the daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Antle) Lewis. On June 16,
1945, she married Vernon E. Carrier, who died October 5, 1994.Mrs. Carrier was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. She enjoyed quilting and Bingo.
Survivors include three children, Michael O. (Gina) Carrier, Patricia M. (Dave) Kinkle and Jacqueline (Ed) Reinemeyer, all of Van Wert; a brother, Tom Lewis of Van Wert; three sisters, Patricia Bryne of British Columbia, Canada, and Monica Kruse and Marie (Gene) Ladd, both of Van Wert; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lewis of Van Wert and Gereldine Lewis of Newfoundland, Canada; eight grandchildren, Amy Tomlinson, Cheryl Eskew, Laura Moody, Jennifer Farmer, Bethany Carrier, Nathaniel Reinemeyer, Nicholas Reinemeyer and Laura Reinemeyer; and eight great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Michael and Larry Lewis, and two sisters, Madeline Pedy and Nell Walsh, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 25, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a Rosary service will be held at 4:45 that afternoon.
