Death notices for Audrey A. Etgen and Herbert Leroy Miller.
ETGEN
Audrey A. Etgen, 73, of Delphos, died at 5:19 a.m. Tuesday,
February 5, 2008, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born June 28, 1934, in Landeck, the daughter of the
late Sylvester and Leona (Rahrig) Rode. On September 5, 1953, she married Paul
Etgen, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include three sons, Steven (Barb) Etgen of
Ottoville, Gregory (Joelyn) Etgen of Delphos and David (Angie) Etgen of
Spencerville; a daughter, Janet (Mark) Correll of Delphos; three brothers, Louis
(Maxine) Rode of Landeck, Ted Rode of Coldwater, Mich., and Syl Rode of Fort
Jennings; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Quentin Rode, and two sisters, Sylvia Lewis and
Zita Martin Allen, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday,
February 8, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father
Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Delphos.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, February 7, at Harter
and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at
7:30 that evening.

MILLER
Herbert Leroy Miller, 78, of Delphos, died at 6:30 a.m.
Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at his Mission, Texas, residence.
He was born December 11, 1929, in Delphos, the son of the
late Donald and Emma (Rice) Miller. On April 30, 1955, he married Catherine
(Rekart) Miller, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Edward Lee (Sue) Miller of
Delphos; one daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Horstman of Fort Jennings; a brother, Dale
Miller of Delphos; two sisters, Oleta Fronk and Ann Miller, both of Delphos; a
sister-in-law, Anna Mae Miller of Delphos; and four grandchildren.
A brother, Robert Miller, also preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. at
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff
officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, where the Spencerville
Veterans of Foreign Wars post will perform military graveside rites.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday, February 8, at Harter and
Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30
that evening.
