Death notice for Jennie Helena Tomlinson.

TOMLINSON
    Jennie Helena Tomlinson, 96, died Tuesday, January 29, at Convoy Care Center.
    She was born December 19, 1911, in a log cabin in Palo, Minn., near Duluth. She married William E. Tomlinson, who died in 2000.
    Survivors include three sons, Lee (Carol) Tomlinson of Bend, Ore., Bill (Kathy) Tomlinson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Ted (MaryAnn) Tomlinson of Van Wert; a sister, Sylvia Brodin, of Duluth; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 1, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory in Van Wert, with the Revs. MaryAnn and Kurt Tomlinson officiating. Mrs. Tomlinson will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at both Tonka Grove Garden Club, a garden club she initiated in 1956 and is still maintained today in Minnetonka, Minn., and the University of Minnesota Arboretum and Nature Center, where she had volunteered for decades.
    Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 31, and from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
    Memorials: American Federated Garden Club or a local garden club of donor’s choice.
