Helen Ruth Stewart Kimberlin, 94, of Sturgis, Mich., moving there from Van Wert in the fall of 1993, died Monday evening, January 7, 2008, at Thurston Woods Nursing Home in Sturgis.
She was born June 19, 1913, in Van Wert County, t
he daughter
of the late James and Helen (Welch) Foust. On August 30, 1931, she married
Everett Stewart, who died January 21, 1966. On November 23, 1968, she married
Raymond Kimberlin, who died June 20, 1993.Mrs. Kimberlin was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. She was a former member of the Van Wert County Board of Elections.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Bonnie) Stewart of Sturgis, Mich.; three stepchildren, Ilo Jean (Harold) Irwin of Decatur, Ind., Jo Ann Gibson of Ossian, Ind., and Susan (Andrew) Bradley of Milford, Mich.; a brother, Carl (Betty) Foust; one sister, Marilyn (William) McCracken of Van Wert; six grandchildren, Tyrone (Audra) Marks and Cam (Paul) Penrod, both of Brownsville, Texas, Todd (Cheryl) Marks of Constantine, Mich., Kelly (Jeff) Lantis of Hillsdale, Mich.; Chad (Lesli) Stewart of Sturgis, and Kari (Neil) Johnston of Grand Blanc, Mich.; and 18 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Dotty Lou Marks, and two sisters, Eloise Rolsten and Lorene Oberlitner, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 11, at the funeral home.
