SOLOMON
Rebecca Lynn Solomon, 54, of Celina, died at 7:41 a.m.
Monday, March 10, 2008, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born December 4, 1954, in Hopewell Township, Mercer
County, the daughter of Winifred Maxine (Davis) Matheny and the late Clyde Lewis
Matheny. He married Hans Pete Maupin, who survives in Celina.
Other survivors include a son, Shawn Kimmel of Florida; one
brother, Tom Lewis (Catherine) Matheny of St. Marys; and a sister, Sharon Thomas
of Convoy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
March 12, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with Pastor Mike Berne
officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation is from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

FAST
Phyllis Deane Fast, 96, of Van Wert, died at Hearth & Home of
Van Wert.
She was born October 30, 1911, in Paulding County, the
daughter of the late Ralph and Cornelia (Chemin) Dangler. On June 29, 1934, she
married Gaylord Clayton Fast, who died May 5, 1973.
Mrs. Fast was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist C
hurch
in Van Wert for 64 years, making her the longest continual member of the church.
She also belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society of the church.
Survivors include three children, Elaine (Winfred) Grismore
of Pandora, Arnell (Shirley) Fast of Van Wert and Marilyn (Paul) Heine of
Louisville, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, Greg (Pam) Grismore of Murfreesboro, Tenn.,
Doug (Gena) Grismore of Findlay, Dwight (Letty) Grismore of Auke Bay, Alaska,
Dan (Polly) Grismore of Fort Wayne, Ind., Cynthia (John) Tilford of Valparaiso,
Ind., Denise (Shaun) Blackburn of Kalida, Mark (Lori) Fast of Van Wert, Jonathan
(Stacy) Fast of Tampa, Fla., David (Tisha) Fast of Van Wert, Craig (Shannon)
Heine of Mason, and Jason (Emily) Heine of Louisville, Ky.; 19
great-grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Renfro of South Bend, Ind., Heather Lee of
Murfreesboro, Tenn., Laura (Brent) Robinson of Murfreesboro, David and Ruben
Grismore of Auke Bay, Abbi Grismore of Fort Wayne, Bryan and Hanna Tilford of
Valparaiso, Emily, Bethany, and Rebekah Fast of Van Wert, Whitley and Clayton
Fast of Van Wert, Gavin and Addison Fast of Tampa, Rachel and Reid Heine of
Mason, and Jacob and Olivia Heine of Louisville; and two
great-great-grandchildren, Madeline and Timothy Renfro of South Bend.
Three sisters, Hope Dangler, Eleanor Goodenough and Gail Hopkins, and two
brothers, Chris and Murl Dangler, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday,
March 15, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steven A. Robinson
officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the funeral home.

Camp of Auke Bay, Alaska.

ALLEN
Betty J. Allen, 80, of Van Wert, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday,
March 10, 2008, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert.
She was born June 13, 1927, in Van Wert County, the daughter
of the late Clarence Hanklin Burnes and Velma V. (Vance) Youtsey. In September
1945, she married James E. Allen, who survives in Van Wert.
Other survivors include two children, James E. Allen Jr. and
Deanna (Larry) Oechsle, both of Van Wert; four brothers, Robert Youtsey and
Roger (Susie) Youtsey, both of Van Wert, Myron Youtsey of Bluffton, and Larry
Youtsey of Dayton; a grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Two brothers, Ivan and Russell Youtsey, and three sisters,
Evelyn McMichael, Dorthea Youtsey and Colleen Gray, also preceded him in death.
Private funeral services will be held, with Captain Jim
Brown officiating, and there will be no public calling hours. Burial will be in
Little Auglaize Cemetery in Paulding County.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army
in Van Wert.
Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert was in charge of
arrangements.
