BRICKNER
Madge Virginia Brickner, 92, of Van Wert, died at 6:30 a.m.
Friday, March 14, 2008, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
She was born March 19, 1915, in Van Wert, the daugh
ter of the
late Richard and Leona (Linkhart) Angevine. On January 19, 1941, she married
Carl F. Brickner, who died September 29, 1961.
Mrs. Brickner had been an integral part of the family
business, Brickner Funeral Home, since 1954. She was a member of St. Mary of the
Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert.
Survivors include three children, James (Kathleen) Brickner
and Charles (Ruth) Brickner, both of Van Wert, and Barbara Ann (Paul) Eakin of
Webster, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Aimee Brickner of Charlottesville, Va., Carl
(Megan) Brickner of Vandalia, Second Lieutenant Virginia Brickner of Fort Polk,
La., Michael E. (Kathryn) Brickner of Willowick and Sarah Brickner of Van Wert;
and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Jane Brickner of Vandalia.
Two half-brothers, Richard Angevine (killed in World War II)
and Glen Angevine, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m.
Monday, March 17, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert,
with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in
Van Wert.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at
Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.
Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to
consider the Van Wert County Hospital Intensive Care Unit and St. Mary of the
Assumption Church Foundation.

JONES
Robert D. Jones, 83, of Ohio City, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday,
March 14, 2008, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born August 17, 1924, in Fort Wayne, Ind., the son of
the late Clifford and Alta (Jenkins) Jones. He married Pauline (Sutton) Jones,
who survives in Ohio City.
Mr. Jones was a retired employee of Federal-Mogul
Corporation’s National Seal Division in Van Wert.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters,
Linda (Dan) Shackley and Cheryl Bluhm, both of Spartanburg, S.C.; two stepsons,
Larry Stuckey of Hawaii and Terry (Linda) Stuckey of Ohio City; a stepdaughter,
Marilyn (Jim) Walls; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March
19, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Randy Bevington
officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City, with military
graveside rites performed by the Ohio City American Legion post.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the funeral
home.
