WALTMIRE
    Robert Dean “Salty” Waltmire, 65, of Van Wert, died at 3:52 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at his residence.
    He was born March 19, 1943, in Dixon, the son of the late Theodore A. and Agnes Irene (Gaskill) Waltmire. On May 28, 1993, he married Pamela (Custer) Waltmire, who survives in Van Wert.
    Other survivors include three children, Robert D. (Diane) Waltmire Jr. of Van Wert, Ronald D. (Tina) Waltmire of Rockford and Randall D. (Sherri) Waltmire of Coldwater; a stepdaughter, Brandy (Jason) Burton of Van Wert; one brother, Russell (Carol) Waltmire of Decatur, Ind.; four sisters, Carolyn Brock of Decatur, Ruth Ann (Roger) Goddard of Norton, Connie (Ben) Goedde of Lima, and Judy (Marvin) Krueckeberg of Van Wert; and nine grandchildren.
    A brother, Harold Waltmire; and one sister, Louise Kessinger, also preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 31, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 and American Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert.
    Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the funeral home, where there will be a VFW memorial service by Post 5803 at 7:45 that evening.

COOPER
    Frances M. Cooper, 83, of Van Wert, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at her residence.
    She was born October 9, 1924, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late john and Mary (Beucker) Winhover. On Saturday, December 2, 1944, she married Robert Cooper Sr., who preceded her in death on December 13, 2005.
    Mrs. Cooper was a lifelong farmer with her husband. She was a housewife and a homemaker to her loving children.
    Survivors include two sons, Robert (Patricia) Cooper Jr. and Richard (Kathy) Cooper, both of Van Wert; two daughters, Patricia Felger and Jeanne (Tyran) Jemison, both of Van Wert; a brother, Paul Winhover of Ottoville; one sister, Mary Juillerat of Albion, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
    A son, David Cooper; three brothers, Julius, Celestine and William Winhover; three sisters, Clara Hanson, Mary Harvey, and Rosemary Williams; and a grandson, Emmitt Felger, also preceded her in death.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
    Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Monday, March 31, at the funeral home.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals-Hospice in Van Wert.
