JOHNSON

Ruby M. Johnson, 92, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Vancrest of Convoy.

She was born January 13, 1917, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Merle and Sumner Valentine. She married Wayne C. Johnson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Johnson worked for Fairfield Paint & Oil in Lancaster and Dean & Barry in Columbus. She was also a radio personality and bookkeeper at WHOK Radio in Lancaster for more than 22 years. In 1977, she was employed at The Windsor Company and retired from there in 2000. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster for over 75 years and was also a charter lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi national sorority.

Survivors include a son, Wayne C. “Chip” Johnson Jr. of Pickerington; two daughters, Judy Boyer of Westerville and Jan (John) White of Van Wert; two grandchildren, Kristen White of Van Wert and Brad White of New York, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Bette Valentine of Fort Worth, Texas; and two nieces, Vickie Bourassa of Fort Worth and Peggy (Bryan) Galloway of Cumby, Texas.

A brother, Vaughn Valentine, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, with Pastor Robert McDowell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home in Pickerington and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

 

KLIM

Vicki Lynn Klim, 59, of Scott, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Convoy Care Center.

She was born November 16, 1949, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Raymond Donald and Audrey Juanita (Seger) Amweg. On March 16, 1985, she married Bob Klim, who survives in Scott.

Other survivors include a son, Richard “Rick” Stegaman, and four sisters, Brenda (Randy) Hartman of Van Wert, Kay (Howard) Speck of Ohio City, Mary Thomas of Findlay and Jan (Ivan) Davis of Decatur, Ind.

A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Friday, November 6, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: State of the Heart Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

BLACK

Sherrie S. Lovellette Black, 51, of Van Wert, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at Triumph Hospital in Lima.

She was born March 10, 1958, in Van Wert, the daughter of Donald and Janella (Stevens) Lovellette, who both survive in Syracuse, Ind. On November 23, 1985, she married Dean W. Black, who also survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a daughter, Jan Ella (Mike) Waltmire of Van Wert; two stepsons, Jason Black of Milford, Ind., and T.J. Black of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a brother, Jeff (Deb) Lovellette of Milford, Ind.; two sisters, Anita R. Carvajal of Willshire and Heidi S. Lovellette of Syracuse, Ind.; two grandchildren; a stepgrandson; two nieces; and nine nephews.

A son, in infancy, and one niece, Paula M. Lovellette, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, November 6, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Jody Harr officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, November 5, and an hour prior to services on Friday at the funeral home.
