Weddings

Couple marries in private ceremony
Connie Biberstine and Evan Ford were united in marriage on December 29, 2007, in a private ceremony held at the Admiral Bicknell Inn & Suites in New Albany, Ind.

The bride is the daughter of Sharon and Michael Grubb of Wren and Terry and Karen Biberstine of Van Wert. She is the granddaughter of Nell Biberstine of Wren. She is a 1994 graduate of Crestview High School and a 2006 graduate of Indiana Institute of Technology.

The groom is the son of Sam and the late Shirley Ford of Angola, Ind. He is a 1984 graduate of Angola High School and a 2003 graduate of Ivy Tech State College.

Attendants were Gina Simmons (Decatur, Ind.) and Wendi Small (Fort Wayne, Ind.).

Groomsmen were Greg Towsley and Jesse Foreman (both of Fort Wayne).

Readers were Jennifer Carr (Antwerp) and Wendi Small (Fort Wayne).

The couple chose a private ceremony where they were surrounded by 16 of their closest family members and friends. Evan's children (Ashley and Andy) and grandson (Cameron) joined the special occasion.

Thatcher, Dicke to marry in April

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dennis and Joyce Thatcher of Van Wert and Kenneth and Margaret Cross of Middle Point. She is a 2001 graduate of Lincolnview High School and a 2006 graduate of Bowling Green State University and a 2007 graduate of The Salon Professional Academy in Toledo. She is currently employed in Fort Wayne, Ind., at Southwest Hair and Day Spa.

Her fiancé is the son of David and Karen Dicke of Ohio City. He is a 1998 graduate of Van Wert High School and also a 2002 graduate of Indiana Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He is currently employed at Tuthill Corporation in New Haven, Ind., as a design engineer.

The couple will exchange vows at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday April 12, 2008, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert.

DeLong, Allomong to say vows in May
     Lindsey DeLong and Scott Allomong wish to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
     The bride-elect is the daughter of Alan and Shayna DeLong of Van Wert. Lindsey is a 2001 graduate of Crestview High School and a 2005 graduate of Defiance College. She is currently employed by Community Health Professionals in Defiance as a medical social worker.
     Her fiancé is the son of Rick and Eve Allomong of Bryan. He is a 1999 graduate of Montpelier High School and a 2005 graduate of The Ohio State University. Scott is employed by the Defiance County Department of Job and Family Services as a case manager.

The couple will exchange vows at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Defiance.

Mathew, Avalos plan May wedding
     Kelly Mathew and Joshua Avalos wish to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
     The bride-elect is the daughter of Carey Mathew of Convoy and Patricia Mathew of Van Wert. Kelly is a 2004 graduate of Van Wert High School and will graduate from Defiance College this coming May. She is currently employed at the Van Wert YMCA.
     Her fiancé is the son of Jose and Melissa Avalos of Decatur, Ind. He is a 2003 graduate of Belmont High School and is currently employed at Fleetwood Motor Homes.

The couple will exchange vows on May 10, 2008 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy.
